Churches in the Biblical city of Laodicea

One of the Seven Churches mentioned in the book of Revelation, the  Church in the ancient city of Laodicea, have been opened to tourism.

The archaeologist Celal Simsek has conducted works in a church that is a very special structure with wall coverings, wall paintings and geometrical mosaics.

“People used to visit Pammukale – the site of the termal spa of the ancient Hierapolis – will also come here” says Simsek. The excavated church is 1,700 years old and it will be surely very important for studies of the most enigmatic book of the Bible: Revelation.
