About the Author

dsc_3067I was born on the 21st of July 1966 in the town of Fano. In 1986 after completing my masters degree, I decided to enroll myself in the academic Theology course at the Istituto Teologico Marchigiano, which was based within my home town.

In 1990, I continued my studies at the Pontifical Biblical Institute of Rome, where I earned my degree in Biblical studies. In the year 2000 the Rector of the Pontifical Lateranense University – currently the Archbishop of Milan – offered me the position of director within the University Library, entrusting me as well with the teaching of Biblical theology. Now I’m researcher of the Vatican Secret Archives. I’m also docent of Biblical science at the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross in Rome.

From 1994 to 2000, I collaborated with various Italian publishing houses, translating works from English and French. I have written articles for magazines specialized in Bible studies and various books including: I libri di Dio. La Bibbia, Mondadori; Il Vangelo del bambino interiore, Città Nuova 2008. I’ve edited the Italian version of John Bowker’s Complete Bible Handbook. An Illustrated Companion, published by Mondatori in 2000.

Beside academic activity I published some very popular books. The first one was Il libro segreto di Gesù (Newton Compton). In November 2012 I published I grandi misteri irrisolti della Chiesa, (Newton Compton) – translated also in Portuguese – and in March 2013 Il libro segreto di Papa Ratzinger (Newton Compton).

I am married to my lovely wife Letizia and I have two sons, Raffaele and Tommaso. I live in Rome. I am a fan of Harry Potter, Twilight, The Lord of the Rings. I make exercise to stay in shape at the Gregory Gym of Rome.
